The Lower West Akyem Constituency chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region, Alhaji Ibrahim Nuhu Sunday has urged the government to consider local Tailors and Dressmakers Association in Sewing of Uniforms for Senior High Schools.
The consideration, according to the chairman will encourage the youth in the country to go into Technical and vocational training to address the unemployment situation in the country.
Speaking at the 6th graduation ceremony by West Akyem Tailors and Dressmakers Association, Ibrahim Sunday also called on government to financially support the youth who want to go into Technical and vocational training as well as those who want to start-up funds.
He lauded Masters who trained the 26 graduates, which comprises 24 females and two males and charged them to explore what they were taught.
Mr. Addo Kwasi Annor, Lower West Akyem Constituency communication director of the NPP who also led the party delegation to the occasion lauded the graduates for Passing through three and four years training.
He said president Akufo-Addo led administration has been investing in Technical and vocational training since 2017 and reiterated government commitment to equip the youth with skills to create jobs for the jobless.
