Oheneba Nana Ashanti Korie I, an aspiring candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s Chairmanship position for Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region, has stated that the current Member of Parliament (MP) on the ticket National Democratic Congress (NDC), Addi Safori Teddy will hand over power to the NPP in the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
According to him, the NPP will put up the necessary effort to take back the seat from the NDC in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary elections.
Speaking to Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma on Ebesi Sen political show on Bryt FM, Oheneba Asante Korie I indicated that, the Akufo-Addo led-government has invested a lot in Ghana’s educational system as compared to the opposition NDC.
He stated that Ghanaians are enjoying free secondary education under President Akufo-Addo administration.
He also reminded Ghanaians that President Akufo-Addo did an unprecedented gesture for teachers in the country during the peak era of the outbreak of the pandemic Coronavirus where teachers were paid despite being at home for some months.
“President Akufo-Addo will leave a good legacy because free senior high education policy is precious to all Ghanaians,” the aspiring Chairman added.
“All Ghanaians have benefited from President Nana Addo and he has transformed Ghana to the next level,’’ he told the host, Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma.
He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to be patient with the NPP’s government because the country is in hard times.
“I witnessed the 2020 elections in the Asuboi electoral area and I must say we were relaxed but now such mistakes will never happen in the 2024 general elections under my tenure as Chairman for the constituency.
Oheneba Asante Korie I stated that President Akufo-Addo has restored allowances of teachers’ and nurses’ trainees which were scrapped by the previous Mahama-led NDC government.
Meanwhile, the NDC as a party insists the continuous payment of the allowances would threaten the future of Ghana’s economy.
