The Spokesperson of the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie, has taken a swipe at Black Stars coach, Otto Addo after claiming to have worked with Jurgen Klopp.
Ghana, who are four-time champions of AFCON will not participate in the 2025 edition to be staged in Morocco after failing to finish among the top two in group F for qualification.
Niger gave the Black Stars lifeline after shockingly defeating Sudan 4-0 in matchday 5 last Thursday.
The Black Stars could have still been in the race for qualification if they had defeated Angola last Friday.
But the 1-1 draw against Angola means, Ghana are finally out of the race and are missing the AFCON tournament for the first time in 20-years.
Responding to calls for his sacking, Otto Addo reflected working with top-notch coaches like Jurgen Klopp, Mathias Sammer and Edin Terzic.
However, Fiifi Tackie, who speaks for the Ayew family says Addo’s claim of working with the aforementioned coaches does not excuse his failure to qualify Ghana for the AFCON tournament.
“Otto Addo’s claims of working with Klopp don’t excuse his failure to qualify us for the 24-team tournament. His inability to achieve this goal raises questions about his leadership. Ghana deserves better.
“Blaming others or boasting about past associations won’t improve our football. We need accountability and results. Unfortunately, Addo’s comments come across as deflecting responsibility.
“Ghana should strive for higher standards in football management. We need coaches who deliver, not just talk.”
