A 60 year old farmer Kofi Amponsah has been shot dead at Jinjini in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region.
A motorbike which the deceased rode to farm was taken away.
His wife Ama Konadu explained that Amponsah went to farm yesterday but did not return.
She said the family went to search for him in his farm at Danyame on the Benkwum kwanso area which they found his liveless body in a pool of blood.
The distraught widow told the media that her late husband did not have a grudge with anyone .
She appealed to the police to investigate the matter to arrest the assailant(s).
The Assembly member for Jinjini Suntreso electoral area, Hon. Opong Tiah who joined the police to the farm to retrieve the body said the situation has been very disturbing and shocking to the people of Jinjini .
He said empty shield of the ammunition was found at the scene together with a cutlass .
According to the Assembly Member, residents are collaborating with the Police to investigate and arrest the perpetrators of the callous act.
