Nana Kwame Dankwah, Asante Kotoko deputy Supporters chief, believes his outfit could have been at the top of the league table had it not being injuries and bad officiating.
The Porcupine Warriors are second on the Ghana Premier League table, with just a game to end of the first round of the campaign.
In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Nana Kwame Dankwah asserted his outfit failure to be at the top of the league table is due to bad officiating and injuries.
“I feel our performance hasn’t been bad at all considering injuries, bad officiating that hit the club but we could have done than better. If things had gone the way we wanted, we would have been at top of the league by now”.
“We encountered some bad officiating in some of our games and that is why Franklin Akumatey has been suspended for 10 games. The season is not over, at a point, the coach improvised positions because of injuries but with the inclusion of Rashid Nortey, Mohammed Alhassan and others, I feel it will create enough competition in the team and going into the second round, I think things will change” he said.
Asante Kotoko are traveling to Dawu to face Dreams FC in match day 17 of the domestic top-flight on Sunday.
