A 24-year-old Barber, Isaac Tetteh Anim has been jailed into Prison custody in hard Labour for 14 years for defiling a 14-year-old girl.
Isaac Tetteh Anim pleaded guilty when he was charged for defilement contrary to section 101of the criminal offense Act 1960(Act 29) in the Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams.
Inspector Susan Ayaric, the prosecution officer in the case told the court that the complainant is Seth Mensah, father of the victim who is a resident of Awaham, near Asamankese while the accused is also a Barber in the same Town.
She said on 17th June 2020, the victim went to the accused persons barbering shop to shave her hair and after that, the complainant locked his shop and decided not to charge the victim but requested to have sex with her.
According to the prosecutor, the accused person began touching the victim and the victim shouted for help and people closer to the barbering shop went there to rescue her.
A report was made to Osenase Police by the victim’s father and medical forms were issued by the police to the victim to go to St. Dominic Hospital in Akwatia for a check-up.
On 1st July 2020, the Police arrested the accused person for attempting to defile a minor and she was later sent to court for prosecution.
