According to COP Dr. Ampah-Bennin (rtd), the issue of Bawku needs to be tackled with holistic approach if Ghana want to end the long lasting conflict in the area.
He indicated that the current approach which has being used over the years, has not been able to yield the needed results over the years.
Speaking on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem on Monday, April 14, Mr. Ampah-Bennin rather called for the establishment of either a 12-member or 15-member committee to be mandated to bring out solutions to help deal with the Bawku conflict one and for all.
He stressed that the issue has escalated from chieftaincy dispute to tribal conflict and that, needs well experienced people to come out with everlasting solutions to end the crisis.
“We have well experienced people who have indepth knowledge in such disputes. Some have attained a lot of experience from peace keeping missions across the globe who can come together to help deal with the issue” he stated.
He added “Government must bring all these people with experience together, including some security experts, so as to seek lasting solution to the matter”.
