Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has commissioned two (2) two-storey dormitory blocks, two storey classroom block and a dining hall for the Fire Academy and Training School.
He also commissioned two (2) hydraulic platforms and a Rapid intervention Vehicle (RIV) for the Operational use of the Ghana National Fire Service(GNFS) in Accra on Friday December 23, 2022.
He noted that since 2017, government has recruited 7000 personnel into the fire service and also beefed up logistics through the provision of 11 command vehicles, 10 pickups, 4 buses and 2000 pieces of personal protective clothing.
Dr. Bawumia again noted that Government is committed to continue to resource and help the Ghana National Fire Service to deliver on its mandate more effectively, as well as equip the Fire Academy and Training School to be among the best on the African continent.
