In the first quarter of 2025, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 flagbearer, gave the party GH¢3 million to fund its social programs.
On behalf of the General Secretary and the National Chairman, he gave the National Treasurer two million Ghanaian cedis in January. A few weeks ago, he also gave the National Chairman an additional one million Ghanaian cedis.
The donation was delivered to Mr. Charles Dwamena, the National Treasurer of the party, at the party’s Accra headquarters last week.
The donation is intended to support members in times of need and develop the party’s internal welfare services, according to the national executives of the party.
Additionally, it is a component of Dr. Bawumia’s ongoing dedication to the welfare of grassroots supporters and party loyalists nationwide.
Mr. Dwamena accepted the donation and conveyed the party’s appreciation to Dr. Bawumia for his prompt and kind donation, stressing that the money will be wisely used to promote a range of welfare initiatives.
The donation coincides with the party’s heightened focus on unity, member support, and successful grassroots mobilization as it gets ready for the next party primaries.
