The vice president, and presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia in his campaign tour to Bia West Constituency of the Western North Region, has announced that the NPP government is set to launch the individuallised credit scoring system for all citizens come next month.
This transformative initiative is set to reshape Ghana’s financial landscape, ensuring that credit becomes more accessible and affordable for both individuals and businesses nationwide.
Speaking at a campaign tour to Bia East, Enchi and Aowin, Dr. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia emphasized the significant impact of this new credit system, referring to it as a ‘game changer’ for Ghana’s economy.
He explained that it would enable lenders to evaluate creditworthiness by considering individual credit histories, rather than relying on collateral or other traditional forms of security, and Ghana will be the second country in a whole of Africa country with the credit scoring system which will also open up new opportunities for individuals and small businesses to access credit, which in turn will drive economic growth and job creation.
He, said, the country has registered Ghana card Canada at the International Civil Aviation Organization and with the card, 44,000 airports and boarder points around the whole world recognizes the significance of the Ghana card. So if you travel to China, America, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia etc and you misplaced your passport, the Ghana card can help you travel back to Ghana, and it is only Ghana as a country, who’s doing that in the world. He emphasized.
Dr. Bawumia, explained that former president John Dramani Mahama has nothing new to offer Ghanaians, since the alternative is scary and empty, because during his time in office, he could not provide chalk for schools, cancelled teacher and nursing trainee allowances,Dumsor, collapse NHIS, National Ambulance Service, and Ghanaians were finding it difficult to buy petrol
This he said, “we have chew the meat and left with bones” and Ghanaians shown him the exit in 2016, he’s therefore calling eligible voters to reject Mahama again in December 7 elections and he (Bawumia) will bring more innovations and ideas to change Ghana.
