The Asamankese Circuit Court Presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has ordered a 36 year old woman, Jamilatu Alhassan to pay ¢8,800 as cost of damage to a Hyundai sonata vehicle, Property Edrine Sarpong at Asamankese.
Jamilatu Alhassan was also charged for causing unlawful damage, contrary to section 172 of the criminal offenses Act 1960 (29) and she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a fine of 200 penalty units,in default,she will be sent to prison for 18 months.
Inspector Samuel Owusu, the Prosecution officer told the court that Complainant in this case is a businessman residing at Akanteng Osenase near Asamankese.
He said Accused is a beautician,a resident Abesim/Black Hotel suburb of Asamankese and about five years ago,the complainant met the accuscd as a tenant in his mother’s house at Akanteng and proposed her and they agreed to be in relationship.
The complainant move her to Asamankese in a new accommodation and further enrolled her into pedicure apprenticeship and after graduation,she was given a shop to start business.
In beginning of 2023.
complainant became fed-up with accused relationship and opened up to her by ending the
relationship peacefully.
In February 2023 accused landlord who is a witness in this case demanded for accused rent allowance from the complainant as usual and that was where the complainant made a conference call with the two and accused admitted paying her
Own rent henceforth.
Comnplainant then made it known to the landlord about their separation and told the landlord to allow any man who comes to visit the accuscd in the house.

recording of accused contirming to the fact of the rent issue and Even that, complainant was still supporting accused in one way or the other when the needs arise.
On 5 March 2023 around
8:00pm, complainant was scated in his Hyundai Sonata Ash and black unregistered private car with DV 9956J/W 2021 model with his family infront of Third Force Supermarket about to be moved and the accused spotted them and drew closer to lean against the front door to chat with the
complainant but he did not allow her brew his horn and drove off.
Complainant went and parked the said car infront of his rented quarters at James Town Asamankese with an amount of GHCS4,000.00 on hand.
On 6 day of March, 2023 at 7:00am, complainant went to his car and
detected that the front wind screen and the bumper are broken and the money stolen with the two side mirors removed together with the front number plate costing Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Ghana
Cedis (GHC8,800.00).
In order not to be arrested if the number plate is used to commit any crime, a report was made same day to Asamankese District Police where photographs were taken
for evidence and a week later, complainant moved the car to Accra but on reaching Nsawam, its
developed a fault and was sent to a shop only to be told that there is salt in the engine and has since been parked at Nsawam costing Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis.
On 5 July 2023,
complainant reported to Police that his investigation revealed that accused was the one who committed such offences as he saw the vehicle number plate in her porch.
The case was referred
to District DOVVSU and photographs of the number plate in accused porch taken and after thorough investigations,
accused was arrested on 24/07/2023 and during investigations, she admitted broken the wind
screen, removing the two side mirrors and the number plate but denied stolen the GH¢S4000.00,
causing damage to the bumper and oiling the engine with the salt.
Accused was charged with the offences as stated in the charged sheet and sent to court for prosecution.
