Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United, Nana Kwasi Darling has called for the resumption of the Ghana Premier League, saying coronavirus pandemic has come to stay with us.
The Ghana Football Association has suspended local football activities since mid-March due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
It is uncertain whether the football season will be truncated or not due to the rapid growth of the disease.
Rumour had it that, the nation’s football governing body is considering to playing behind closed doors to allow for the 2019-20 season to continue but he has such an option.
In an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM, Nana Darling clamoured for the continuation of the topflight league as he strongly believes the Convid-19 has come to stay.
“I think it is about time we continue the season because I don’t think this disease will be over now. It has come to stay with us and that is my belief”
“How many times or years can we play behind closed doors? He quizzed.
“We just have to adhere to the safety protocols and also fine a mechanism to check fans during match days so we can play the league” he concluded.
