Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United Nana Kwasi Darling has thrown his weight behind the Ghana Football Association to truncate football season in the country.
The Ghana FA’s executive council after a marathon meeting yesterday decided to annul the season which had been suspended since March 16 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The decision is deemed as devastating for a football industry that was about finding its feet after close to 2 years on non-competitive action due to a period of normalization after the Anas Exposé.
Many football connoisseurs rooted for cancellation of the season as they cited as practically impossible for football to resume in the circumstances the country found itself in.
Nana Darling in an interview with Sarkodie Spanky of Koforidua based Bryt FM shared that it will be prudent for clubs to accept the Ghana FA’s decision and prepare much better for another season.
“My outfit was not so bothered about the FA’s decision because our position on the league table wasn’t bad but I wanted them to wait until the July 31 for the president’s address before they decide on the season”
“Whether we like it or not the season has been canceled so we should support their decision and move. I know clubs who were on top of the league will not welcome this news but it has happened, let move on” he told Bryt FM.
