The National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch in the Bibiani Ahwianso Bekwai Constituency of the Western North Region has held a press conference demanding from H.E President Akufo-Addo to allow the Municipal Assembly Chief(Hon.Paul Andoh) to step aside for an investigation to be conducted for allegedly diverting logistics and farm inputs meant for cocoa farmers and good people of Bibiani Ahwianso Bekwai Municipality, to improve their livelihood from the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) worth millions of cedis, have found their way conspicuously to our MCE’s private residence at Sefwi Bekwai instead of the Municipal warehouse at Bibiani, the Municipal capital.
In an interview with Lord FM News, the Bibiani Ahwianso Bekwai Constituency Communication Officer for the NDC party, Mr. Abraham Henry Konney, stated that it has come to their notice that on August 17, 2023. Farm inputs including bags of fertilizers, boxes of agrochemicals, cartoons of cutlasses, and other logistics such as footballs, jerseys, wallington boots, and other items meant for the residents of the Municipality found their way to the Municipal Chief Executive house.
Mr. Abraham Henry Konney said the alleged theft case has been reported to the police and the president has been petitioned as well by some Concerned Citizens of Bibiani Ahwianso Bekwai Municipal.
This according to the NDC by this press conference, calling on H.E president Akufo-Addo as a matter of urgency to demand his resignation or let him step aside to allow proper forensic investigation into the matter since his presence as the leader of the MUSEC has dire consequences on the thorough investigation on the matter.
Mr. Abraham Henry Konney also reiterated that Hon. Paul Andoh’s action has defeated the fiducial responsibility entrusted to him as a public officer who is mandated to serve with some level of trust and honesty.
“So we are by this Press Conference again calling on the President Akufo Addo, Local Government, Decentralization Rural Development Minister, Hon. Dan Botwe, CID, OSP to initiate a swift, transparent impartial investigation into the allegations levelled against Hon. Paul Andoh because Justice delay is Justice denied” he emphasized.
