Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Karim Benzema has announced his retirement from international football as he leaves the French national team.
He has played in 97 games, 37 goals and it’s now officially over, according to the journalist.
There are also reports that Benzema rejected an invitation from French President, Emmanuel Macron to attend the World Cup final.
Benzema is a French professional footballer who plays as a striker and captains La Liga Club, Real Madrid.
He suffered a left quadriceps injury shortly before the World Cup.
