Players of Ghana Women’s Premier League outfit Berry Ladies escaped death by a whisker after their team bus caught fire on Tuesday morning at Suhum.
Berry Ladies have been preparing feverishly ahead of the start of the 2023/24 Women’s Premier League season as they seek to make impact.
On Tuesday, the team embarked a trip to Kyebi in the Eastern Region to continue their preparation for the new season.
Unfortunately, their team bus caught fire in Suhum on the Accra-Kumasi highway. Thankfully, occupants of the bus were unhurt.
Berry Ladies coach Freeman in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM confirmed the unfortunate incident.
“It is true, our team bus caught fire, thanks to the Suhum Fire Service who rescued us, we are all safe, no one got hurt. We are yet to know the cause of this incident. We board a different to continue our trip to Kyei and have successfully arrived” he told Bryt Sports.
