The win by the Ghana Black Stars over their South Korean counterparts in Monday’s World Cup second-game encounter has been attributed to the absence of President Akufo-Addo at the venue at the time of the game.
According to the politician and a member of the PNC, Benard Mornah, the presence of the President during the Black Stars’ first game against Portugal led to the team’s defeat as he (President) is surrounded by bad moments.
President Akufo-Addo was with the Black Stars team a few hours prior to the encounter with Portugal to motivate and assure them of Government’s support and subsequently took the opportunity to witness the game at the stadium.
Mr Benard Mornah was, however, of the view that the presence of the President was not necessary and rather caused the team’s defeat.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars beat South Korea on Monday by 3-2 to gain its first three points in the bid to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
“I told you earlier that the President’s visit to the team was a bad moment as he (President) is surrounded by such attributes and that caused our defeat. The President’s presence at the stadium was a bad moment for Ghana” Benard Mornah told Bella Mundi of TV3 New Day.
