The return of Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Jonathan Mensah and other experienced players to Ghana’s team has generated a lot of debate among sports pundits and social media users.
In an official squad released for the AFCON Qualifiers and the 4-Nation tournament to be held in Japan, Andre Ayew and Jonathan Mensah make a return since the last AFCON tournament held in Cameroon.
Mubarak Wakaso on the other hand has been missing from the team for some time now but makes a return to prove his ability to be part of the squad.
Many Ghanaians have suggested to the management of the Black Stars to maintain the squad used for the Nigerian clash as they performed creditably and forgo the so-called old experienced players.
However, the released list of squad raises concerns over the criteria used in selecting the players, as many are of the view that the inclusion of the above-mentioned players may affect the performance of the team.
Others are also of the view that the inclusion of such players would help boost the courage of the young ones as the experience of the old players cannot be overemphasised.
