The Black Meteors have been handed a massive blow as the Black Stars duo of Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer withdraw from the U23 AFCON tournament.
The duo were among the three Black Stars players included in Ibrahim Tanko’s 29 provisional squads for the AFCON tournament in Morocco.
They were expected to join the Black Meteors camp in Egypt after their participation in the 2023 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar last Sunday.
But it has been reported Kamaldeen and Ransford Yeboah cannot participate in the U23 AFCON after the Ghana FA failed to convince their clubs to release them for the tournament.
The U-23 AFCON is not sanctioned by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
Meanwhile, Ernest Nuamah who earned his debut for the Black Stars against Madagascar was able to convince Nordsjaelland to release him for the tournament.
