Tension in the NDC Techiman South Constituency continues to rise after their loss in the 2020 elections, as there is a serious division amongst the executives.
According to the report, there is a division as the 2020 Parliamentary candidate, Dr Christopher Beyere and Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Nuhu Fatwa are on different sides.
Following the turn of events and the continuous jeopardy of the party, the Bono East Regional Functional Executive Committee of the NDC has suspended the Techiman South Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Nuhu Saliu Fawa for six (6) months considering the recommendation of the party’s Disciplinary Committee.
In a Press release signed by the Regional Secretary, Mr Shamsudeen Ali and copied to the media, Alhaji Nuhu Fawa has breached Article 47 (a) and (c) of NDC’s constitution Pursuant to Article 48 (8) (a)(b) & (c) and is suspended for six months, therefore, he is requested to hand over all properties of the party in his possession to the Constituency Vice-Chairman who shall act in his absence.
In a related development, Alhaji Ali Mahmoud Issah is popularly known as Mosquito, the Techiman South NDC Communications Officer and Mr Suleman Halidu a.k.a. Aristo, the Constituency Youth Organizer on Saturday 21st May 2022 were attacked and beaten by some NDC supported suspected to be followers of the suspended Techiman South NDC Chairman.
The embattled Chairman, Alhaji Nuhu Fawa when contacted by the reporter refused to comment but denied the allegations levelled against him and also said he has no knowledge about his purported suspension as he has not officially been notified or has no letter to that effect.
