Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman has come out to dispel rumours of insecurity following reports of alleged missing persons and serial killings.
Speaking in an interview during the Techiman Municipal Assembly’s 2nd Phase of Media Engagement on the progress of developmental projects, Hon. Benjamin Gyarko stated categorically that six (6) deaths have officially been recorded in 2022 (January to July) and not the fifteen (15) or so as been speculated.
The MCE in his capacity as the Chairman of Techiman Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) indicated that none of the six (6) persons according to the Doctor’s autopsy report died out of an unnatural cause, therefore, seems malicious for some people to spread such rumours.
Hon. Benjamin Gyarko seized the opportunity to call on patrons of the Techiman market which is the largest food market in West Africa, as well as the good people of the area who might have conceived panic as a result of the false publications to ignore the rumours, and go about their normal duties without fear as the Police and other security agencies are ever ready to protect every life and properties.
