The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan made some logistical donations of twenty-seven thousand, seven hundred and twenty (27720) cutlasses and five hundred (500) wellington boots to the GNFS Regional Command for onward distribution to fire volunteers in the region.
The Regional Minister said the donation is geared towards minimizing, if not stopping bush fires in the region.
He cautioned hunters, palm wine tappers, farmers etc about existing laws on bush fires and assured of his commitment to implement it without fear or favor.
The Regional Fire Commander, ACFO I Roberta Aggrey Ghanson, receiving the items together with some Fire Volunteers on behalf of the Chief Fire Officer thanked the Regional Minister for the donation and assured that the items will be used for the intended purpose.
She also stressed on the ban on naked fires during this dry season and appealed to the indigenes to fall on the volunteers when the need arises.
