Bread bakers in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality specifically PM1 Bakery which produces sugar, wheat and cake bread respectively is worried about the frequent increase in prices of bakery items of late saying “it’s gravely affecting bread producers in the country”.
Speaking with the media during a press conference at the factory’s premises at BIbiani-Lineso, Alexander Gyebi Quarcoo, the Sales and Marketing manager for PM1 bakery indicated that the hike in prices retards the progress of their businesses.
He is, therefore, calling on stakeholders, authorities, government and those who matter to do all they could and help them by reducing the prices of bakery materials and ingredients for them.
According to them, that would make them feel a bit relieved, adding that they have suspended production of bread and started today, Monday due to items increment.
Mr Gyebi Quarcoo further disclosed an increment in the prices of their products saying the current factory or customer price of a loaf now costs ghc7.00 while final consumer price purchase at ghc8.00 effective today, Monday, April 4, 2022, and beseeched customers to accept the price adjustment as such
