Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey has arrived in Ghana and is expected to watch the Black Stars game against Madagascar in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ghana will take on Madagascar in their first AFCON qualifier in Group E on Wednesday at the Cape Coast.
According to Ghanaian journalist, Michael Oti Adjei, Lamptey who is contemplating switching nationality and playing for the Black Stars is in the West African country and will travel to meet the team in Cape Coast.
“Tariq Lamptey is due to meet his new international teammates this week. In a town with his dad and due later in Cape Coast where he would watch Ghana’s Afcon qualifier against Madagascar” Oti Adjei tweeted.
Lamptey sparked a nationality switch after asking England U-21 coach Lee Carsley to exclude him from his squad for next month’s games.
