The Sofoline GPRTU Chairman, Mr Albert Boamah has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr Akuffo Dampare to bring back the police MTTD to our roads.
He stated that the removal of the MTTD personnel from our roads will increase road accidents as most drivers would not abide by road traffic regulations.
“I am pleading with the IGP to bring the MTTD personnel back to the roads, the removal of the personnel will lead to careless driving, some drivers will take this mere opportunity and do unnecessary stuff on the roads”.
“I think they need to come back to the roads”, he stressed.
In addition, Mr Albert Boamah urged the government to reduce fuel prices, believing the rapid increment of petroleum prices have affected them badly.
“It’s very disheartening to wake up every day to hear they have increased fuel prices, meanwhile our income has not increased, the government must sit up and avoid these inhumane acts”, he reiterated.
