Pius Enam Hadzide, spokesperson for Dr. Bryan Acheampong has praised the former Food and Agriculture Minister for his transformative policies in the cocoa sector.
He noted that Mr. Acheampong’s reforms, particularly the historic increase of cocoa prices from GH¢800 to GH¢3,100 per bag, are yielding significant benefits for farmers and the nation at large.
According to Mr. Hadzide, the price adjustment was possible because the government no longer pays interests on certain loans, making more funds available to directly support cocoa farmers. He stressed that Dr. Acheampong is a visionary leader who not only comes up with big ideas but also implements them into tangible results.
He further cited Acheampong’s track record, including his role in helping to clean up the BOST payroll system through his IT company, which eliminated about 50,000 ghost names. This, he said, demonstrates his ability to deliver practical solutions that benefit Ghanaians.
Hadzide described Dr. Acheampong as “the Joshua God has given to the nation,” arguing that while past leaders such as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, and former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo played their part as “Moses figures,” it is Acheampong who will lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Ghana into the “promised land.”
He, therefore, urged delegates of the NPP to unite and rally behind Dr. Acheampong, expressing confidence that his leadership will secure the party’s victory in the 2028 general elections.
