Deputy Communication officer of the ruling National Democratic Congress Conrad Nyarko has called for the laws of the land to take it course in the issue of petition to remove the current Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo from office.
The CJ is currently on a landslide as she is waiting for recommendations the Council of State will offer to President John Dramani Mahama should he present the matter for consideration.
Speaking on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem on Bryt fm on Tuesday, Conrad Nyarko was of the view that Ghanaians should exercise restraint on the matter and await how it unfolds in accordance with the laws of the country.
“As I speak to you now, nobody knows the content of the petition and response filled by the Chief Justice. So I think we should allow the Council of State to deal with the matter and advice the President accordingly”.
“Luckily, we have some NPP-linked members on the Council of State and I know they will do justice to the issue”, Comrade Nyarko stressed.
However, NPP communication team member, KB was rather of the view that the current government has plans of removing the Chief Justice based on political differences and nothing else.
He advised the Chief Justice to resign from the position if possible so as to protect her integrity and safety as a person.
