Burkina Faso has praised its cooperation with Russia, stating it suits better than its historic ties with France.
Following a 2022 military coup, the new leadership broke with Paris and started working with Russia to fight an Islamist insurgency.
At a Russia-Africa summit in Russia, Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Traore said Russia was a partner with whom they can make progress and there was no fear of becoming militarily dependent on Moscow.
