Drivers in Koforidua have expressed their relief in relation to the ease on the restrictions of the number of passengers in a car.
According to them, the initial restriction caused them to lose a lot of money and business was really slow. They believe that the president has really heeded to their plea and they are grateful for that gesture.
They added that the relief on the restriction will guide people to take the safety protocols seriously.
They explained that before the restriction was eased, passengers were not adhering to the safety measures because there was enough space in the cars. The relief will instil fear in the passengers and they will take their precautions seriously since people will be seated close to each other.
They went ahead and averred that, since they are taking the initial set of passengers, they will also make sure to ensure that passengers have their nose masks on and their sanitizers with them.
One of the drivers admitted that the ease on the restrictions will really benefit them, even though the ease took effect just today he has experienced increment in the sales.
“Taking the full set of passengers will really benefit us because we will earn a lot of money. Now the fare has been increased and we are also taking our initial number of people so we the drivers are really enjoying”, a driver said.
“Low in sales made some of us lose our jobs since we weren’t getting enough. Our car owners took their cars from us which was really disturbing. I hope and pray that prices of fuel come down so fares will be reduced”, said by another driver.
