A 10 month-old baby has allegedly been buried alive at the shore of the sea at Gomoa Nyanyano community in Central Region by unknown assailants.
The deceased was shrouded in white cloth with a black polythene bag forced into the mouth and buried with the head turned upside down while the legs were up.
Residents are linking the incident to ritual murder by persons engaged in sakawa or pastors seeking spiritual powers.
The residents told Bryt FM News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah that, they tried their best to rescue the baby but were not successful.
“We suspect that the act was a direction given to sakawa guys by their ritualists because the head of the baby was turned upside down whiles the legs were up”.
The body of the deceased has been conveyed by the Gomoa Nyanyano District Police Command to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy while the investigation continues.
Some parents say they have been gripped with fear. They urged the police to endeavor to arrest the perpetrators.
