The Central Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service, Mrs Rebecca Quainoo has disclosed that sixty-two thousand, six hundred and twenty-one (62,621) candidates have taken part in the ongoing 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination.
To her, the 62,621 candidates are from both public and private schools.
Speaking to Bryt Fm Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah after visiting some centres, Mrs Rebecca Quainoo averred that there was a deferral in the distribution of the examination paper in the region.
“2,243 candidates were registered in both private and public schools with 201 centres,’’ said Mrs Rebecca Quainoo.
She stated that there is strict adherence to the Covid-19 protocols.
“Pregnant and breastfeeding students are also participating in this examination. We are expecting a smooth flow till the end of the paper,” Mrs Rebecca Quainoo added.
Mrs Rebecca Quainoo averred that the invigilators posted to their various 200 sectors are doing marvellous work and assured the public of a successful BECE due to the level of education of the invigilators which she believed will ensure the smooth flow of the exams in the region.
