The Director of Education in Awutu Senya East Municipality (Kasoa), Mrs. Faustina Alimatu Braima, has announced that a total of 8,629 candidates have registered to sit for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The examination will involve 315 schools, comprising 47 public schools and 268 private schools.
According to the statistics, 4,111 boys and 4,518 girls are set to take the examination. The municipality has put in place necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. A total of 32 examination centers have been designated, with 32 supervisors, 29 assistant supervisors, and 309 invigilators assigned to oversee the examination process.
Mrs. Braima expressed concern over the high incidence of examination malpractice in the 2024 BECE, particularly in subjects like Science and Mathematics. She noted that many students attempted to cheat in these core subjects, emphasizing the need for stricter measures to curb the menace.
As the 2025 BECE approaches, Mrs. Braima advised students and teachers to shun examination malpractice and instead focus on academic excellence. She urged them to prioritize hard work and integrity, ensuring a fair and transparent examination process. By doing so, candidates can achieve their true potential and earn their certificates with dignity.
