The Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency and Minority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has donated educational materials to Ayirebi Yankson M/A Basic School. The items include 15 cupboards, 100 dual desks, 50 mono chairs, 50 hexagonal chairs, and 10 hexagonal tables.
The donation, received by the school authorities on behalf of the MP by Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kasim, former Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Effutu Municipality, aims to enhance teaching and learning at the school. Hon. Kasim emphasized the MP’s commitment to supporting education in his constituency, particularly in addressing the school’s accommodation challenges.

The headmistress of the school was urged to ensure the proper maintenance of the donated items to prolong their lifespan. This gesture is expected to significantly improve the learning environment at Ayirebi Yankson M/A Basic School, enabling students to focus on their studies and achieve academic excellence.
The headmistress, Miss Agnes Shay, was overwhelmed with gratitude as she addressed the students and officials gathered at the school. “Ten thousand tongues cannot adequately express our appreciation for the Honorable Afenyo-Markin’s kindness,” she said, her voice filled with emotion.
The school’s infrastructure had long been in need of improvement, and the donated items would go a long way in creating a more conducive learning environment. The cupboards would provide ample storage for the students’ books, keeping them organized and tidy. The tables and chairs would enable students to write comfortably, improving their posture and writing skills.
