The Winneba Fire Command has taken their fire safety sensitization drive programme to students of Winneba Community Nursing Training School.
The sole aim of the programme was to orient and sensitise both old and fresh students on the need to remain fire safety conscious at all times and even more importantly, on campus.
The Command seized the moment to drum home the basics of fire prevention into the Students.
The Students in turn asked questions bothering them after the presentation to get more insight into fire prevention.
You will recall that quite recently, the Command swiftly intervened in a near-fatal fire incident that could have destroyed a 42 room capacity hostel of the school.
Thus, to avert this from recurring, the Command also took the students numbering over 500 through basic fire evacuation drills and suppression techniques.
The Students were so excited for the drills and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Command and wished they could be taken through such lectures and drills periodically.
The Command in its quest to reduce fires and related emergencies in its catchment areas will continue to do the same on the campuses of the University of Education and Perez University both within Winneba to avert future occurrence of fires on such premises.
