Health of a class one pupil bitten by snake in Twifo Atti Morkwa District in central region of Ghana continue to deteriorate due to his parents failure to send him to hospital for treatment over lack of money.
The boy was reportedly bitten by snake while catching crabs in a bush.
Due to financial problem, the parents decided to use herbal concoction to treat him instead of seeking medical attention ay the hospital.
The arm of the boy continue to swell as he looks sick.
The boy has since not been able to attend school at Afadzi D/A Primary School in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District.
His teacher ,Philip Avlesi said “he was absent from school today so I decided to make a follow-up on him. Unfortunately, I was told that he was bitten by a snake when he went to the Bush to catch crabs The sad thing is that, he hasn’t been taken to the hospital. He is being treat with herbs which is ineffective. The hand keeps swelling and moving up his arm as you can see from the photos.
The teacher continued that “upon making enquiries on why he has not been sent to the hospital, the mother retorted, “sika asem ooo.” I nearly wept. In fact, I fear the unfortunate may happen”.
The teacher is raising fund to send the boy to hospital to save his life
