A man in his late 40’s has been arrested at Gomoa Dominase Onion market for allegedly killing a woman in her 50’s at Gomoa Potsin in the Gomoa East District of the Central region.
According to source, the suspect is believed to have attacked and raped the victim in the bush, pressing her neck to death after struggling with her.
Report says, the victim, whose name was given as Habibah, sells cow milk and she was on her way to the farm early morning of Wednesday and was attacked by the suspect.
Report further revealed the suspect attacked the victim, struggled with her and broke her neck after raping her mercilessly and left her under a tree in the bush.
Report says, before the attack, the deceased was said to have called her son that someone want to harm her but the suspect attacked her while she was on the phone speaking to her son.
The son, after the mother dropped the call organized the boys to rescue his mother but on their way met the suspect whose body was stained with blood, but denied of killing the woman when he was approached.
Later, the guys found out he killed the deceased and was later caught at the Onion Market.
Meanwhile, the Police swiftly rescued him from mob attack and has since been taken to the Central East Regional Police command in Kasoa for further investigation and prosecution.
