A 29-year old Emmanuel Gavor has been shot dead whilst one other is in critical condition receiving treatment at the Awutu Beraku Health Center after they were shot by suspected armed robbers late Tuesday night at Awutu Kemwo.
The report indicates the two were attacked on their motorbike at the village close to Awutu Beraku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
According to Bryt Fm News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, the deceased comes from Awutu Papaase but currently stays with one, Mr. Jacob Abbam in the Awutu Kemwo community to do his day-to-day sand winning job.
Eyewitness account revealed that the deceased was shot in the head with the other sustaining injuries.
Recounting the ordeal to newsmen, Jacob Abbam whom the deceased was staying with also said he had just returned from church service when he got a call that Gavor has been shot dead.
He described the incident as unfortunate and wondered what anyone could do to take the life of an innocent person as he described the deceased as a person with a good heart and a hard worker.
Meanwhile, the Awutu Beraku District Police Commander, Superintendent Joshua Semenyo has confirmed the incident adding the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital with investigations ongoing.
However, the police chief could not understand why the alleged robbers failed to bolt away with the motorbike after taking phones and a little sum of money from their victims.
