A Pastor and three(3) accomplices have been arrested at Abura Batayaa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region for allegedly attempting to exhume dead bodies for rituals.
Confirming the incident to Bryt FM News Central Regional Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, Assembly Member for the area Godslove Blankson alleged that the suspects were arrested midnight Tuesday with cutlasses, schnapps, shovels, eggs, boiled yam, and pickaxe among other items in a bush.
“The Pastor went to a fetish priest who directed him to get human parts to perform rituals for him to start his church. But when he was arrested he said they were going to dig gold but the area he spoke about, belongs to a family which he is not a member” The Assembly member said.
The suspects were handed over to the local Chiefs who interrogated them and sent them to the Police station.
They have been granted Police inquiry bail.
The Assembly member said, grave looting is on the rise in the area, therefore residents have been on alert to arrest the perpetrators.
He said the perpetrators use the body parts to perform various rituals
