Chiefs and residents of Awutu Fianko, a community near Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region are calling for an immediate return of police officers stationed in the community to help strengthen their security.
When Bryt Fm News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah visited the community saw that the rented police station have since been turned to a bread baking factory which residents, Assembly Member as well as opinion leaders claim they don’t know why.
According to them, the absence of the personnels have currently resulted in an unwarranted behavior among the youths following the rise of thievery and “wee” smoking ghettos in the community.
Residents have no option now than to travel for about 5miles before they can lodge a complaint at Awutu Bawjiase since the vacation of the personnels from the community.
Acting Chief of the Awutu Fianko Community, Nai Kwashie Abbeyquaye have hinted that the community have allocated lands towards the construction of a Police edifice hence appealing to government and benevolent associations, organisations to help protect his people and properties.
Meanwhile, Assembly Member of the Fianko – Otopiase Electoral Area,Small Hon Ebenezer Asumadu Sakyi have also revealed the absence of the Police station have really affected the security of the community and its surroundings since it was effectively calming down situations on ground.
