Kasoa, July 16, 2025 — The Central East Regional Police Command has successfully secured the conviction of a 25-year-old man, Kolie Samuel, for robbery and related offenses in connection with a brazen early-morning attack at Millennium City in Gomoa East.
According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, the incident occurred on July 10, 2025, around 5:30 a.m. near the Golden Pride Preparatory School. The convict, Kolie Samuel, allegedly robbed a female victim of her handbag containing an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse with an unspecified sum of money.
Acting swiftly on intelligence and with assistance from the victim, police tracked Samuel to his hideout at Ngleshie Amanfro, a suburb of Accra, and arrested him on the same day of the incident. A search on the suspect led to the retrieval of the stolen iPhone and several other suspected stolen items, including:
One Dell laptop
Two Itel mobile phones
One Nokia phone
One Alcatel phone
One Vodafone WiFi device
Two pairs of AirPods
One gold necklace
Three wristwatches
One ladies’ purse and a wallet containing a health insurance card bearing the name Kwapong Sahnan
Ten memory cards
These items are believed to be linked to additional robbery activities yet to be fully investigated.
Following a thorough investigation, Samuel was arraigned before the Ofaakor Circuit Court on July 15, 2025, where he pleaded guilty to robbery and causing harm. The court sentenced him to 14 years for robbery and 5 years for causing harm, to run concurrently.
The Central East Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety and bringing criminals to justice. “We remain resolute in our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the public by bringing perpetrators of such crimes to face the full rigors of the law,” said DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, Head of Public Affairs for the region.
