Over 1,000 residents of Suncity, a suburb of Gomoa Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region have now been rendered homeless both tenants and landlords, after one Nana Batila is claiming the ownership of the land which he acquired for years now.
The source further reveals that, Winneba High court have ruled for one Nana Batila in 2019 that the land belongs to him and is about 15 acres.
Currently, over 500 houses have been affected.
According to the residents, they were thrown out the room at down with heavy police security personnel’s from central East Police command with some Individuals from Nima and Mamobi who were hired by the said court winner.
But according to checks from the Gomoa East District Assembly, the DCE Hon Solomon Darko-Quarm said as chairman for District Security Council (Disec) he’s not aware of such exercise.
