The Central East Regional Police Command today ,11th August 2025, at about 7:40am arrested two suspects in possession of substance suspected to be Indian hemp at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Central Region.
The suspects, namely Eric Nkyeke and Francis Klu aged 30 and 28 respectively, were apprehended with 519 pieces of compressed parcels of substance suspected to be Indian hemp by the Nyanyano District Police patrol.
In a statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs, DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, disclosed that the suspects who were than offloading the said substances from a Toyota Hilux pick –up truck with the registration number Gs-6849-21 were arrested and are currently in police custody and assisting with investigation. Meanwhile the vehicle has been impounded.
The Regional Police Command in appreciating the arresting offices, also reaffirms its commitment to fighting drug related crimes and ensuring the safety of our communities.
The command further warns all individual involved in such crime to desist or face the full rigours of the law if arrested.
The Central East Police Command urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drugs or crime to police.
