President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says government through the Ministry of Fisheries and Acquaculture Development is going to train 10,000 youth into the ‘Acquaculture For Food For And Jobs’ Policy towards creating 60,000 jobs.
Speaking at the launch of the program at Gomoa Nsuaem in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region, President Nana Addo stated that government is committed to making fish more accessible and affordable for every Ghanaian towards ensuring an enjoyable nutritious diet.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo also commended R&B farms for collaborating with government to create over 60,000 employment among the youths.
He said, each of the youth will receive Ghc38,700 as seed capital, free fingerlings and a pond to start their own businesses.
Meanwhile, Minister of Fisheries and Acquaculture Development Aquaculture and MP for the Awutu Senya East Constituency Mavis Hawa Koomson also revealed the ministry is going to provide 5 million fingerlings to the 10,000 youth who are going to be trained in Aquaculture for food and jobs policy which she believe will help reduce unemployment rate in the country.
Chief Executive Officer of R&B farms Richard Ekow Quansah stressed that hi outfit mission is to create 10million jobs for the teaming youth in the next 20 years.
