Despite having challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Awutu Emasa Rural Bank gained a profit in 2023, according to the Board Chairman Providence Prince Ewool.
At the bank’s 33rd Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, Mr. Prince Ewool indicated that the bank made a loss of Ghc700,000.00 in 2022 but was able to overcome it to have profit in 2023 due to pragmatic measures put in place.
He attributed the success story to recovery of loans from creditors, incentives for staff as well as determination of management over the past years.
Mr. Prince Ewool used the opportunity to appeal to the central government to support the activities of rural as their roles in nation’s development cannot be over emphasized.
He, however, urged customers to buy shares and be part of the bank’s shareholders so as to benefit from profits made.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr Maxwell Mensah revealed the bank over the past 40 years supported traders and other bodies in terms of feasible and affordable loan offers.
“We have a school feeding program offer for private schools to help ease the problem of skyrocketing food prices on the market”.
“I will urge traders to deposit their monies at Awutu Emasa Rural Bank because we have interoperability service that can allow them to cash out at any of our branches” he added.
