Central East Regional Police Command has arrested four suspected land guards whereas others are at large over alleged assault of construction workers and also destroying fence wall being put up by the Winners Chapel International at Senya Beraku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
Heavy body built men (Machomen) numbering about 50 with weapons were spotted attacking construction workers at the site with over 200 bags of cement and 30,000 blocks also destroyed by the suspects.
According to the Police, the workers were constructing fence wall on a 1,000-acre of land which has been allocated to Winners Chapel International by the traditional council to build a University for the Senya Beraku Community.
Speaking to Bryt Fm News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, some of the workers who escaped the attack disclosed that, the scenario was like a movie after the alleged machomen attacked them and also destroyed the fence wall.
The workers said their temporal wooding structure where they keep their equipment was also destroyed in the attack.
Meanwhile, Chief of Anons Royal Family of Senya Beraku, Nenyi Akondoh Kow Nkwanta(II) has condemned the act appealing to the Ghana Police Service to consider dealing drastically with the perpetrators to serve as deterrent to others since the traditional council stand for development.
