A 35-year-old Assistant Headmaster of Ekumfi Akra Methodist Basic School who also doubles as the Ghana National Association of Teachers Local Secretary in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region has been shot whiles easing himself in a bush.
Sources gathered indicate there is no toilet facility attached to the bungalow for teachers in the community hence, the bush is the only option.
Information gathered revealed the victim, Shadrack Frimpong on Wednesday early in the morning around 5:30 am went to a nearby bush around the staff bungalow to ease himself and in the process got shot.
The bullets hit his left eye and his hand.
Speaking to a colleague teacher, he narrated they were in their rooms when they heard the Assistant Headmaster shouting and calling for help but upon reaching his location, he was found in a pool of blood indicating that he has been shot.
So they quickly rushed him to Mankessim Roman Hospital for treatment.
Some teachers are wondering why someone can plan to shoot him since he is not having any issues with anybody in the community.
The Father of the Victim, Richard Anaman has, however, charged the police in the Ekumfi District to do a massive investigation into the matter since the case has been reported to them.
According to him, this is a calculated attempt to Kill his son and suspects that the victim was shot over his disciplinary actions against students as a misunderstanding recently broke out with some of the parents in the community for canning a student over misconduct but the issue has been settled.
Meanwhile, the Assembly Member for Ekumfi Akra, Hon. Seth Kofi Entsie also has said that the incident happened because the teachers lack toilet facilities at their bungalows.
As at now, the suspect who shot the teacher is nowhere to be found.
They are however charging police to do a massive investigation on the matter.
