Ghana champions Samartex have set up an epic tie with Morocco giants Raja Casablanca after edging out Victoria United in the first round of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The Timber giants defeated the Cameroonian outfit 1-0 in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, eliminating them with a 2-0 aggregate win.
Having succeeded in the first preliminary round, the Ghana champions will battle it out with the Morocco giants for a place in the group stages of the CAF elite club competition.
Samartex will play host to Raja Casablanca at the Accra Sports Stadium before the reverse fixture in Morocco next month.
Meanwhile, Samartex tactician Nurudeen Amadu admits his outfit faces a stern test against Raja Casablanca.
“We need to grow and be tactically awake a little more. We have certain things that we shouldn’t be doing at this stage. It’s a young team but we need to grow”
He continued, “We anticipate a very tough side because Raja is an experienced team, they are experienced in the Champions League but we will give them a match of their lives.”
