The continental football governing body (CAF) will on Friday, June 21, 2024 meet to discuss major issues including the date for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The virtual meeting will be chaired by CAF president Patrice Motsepe at 1400 GMT, where leaders of African football will dialogue on pertinent matters.
Earlier report suggested the upcoming AFCON tournament to be held in Morocco 2025 has been postponed.
In a swift response, CAF denied such report, although the date for the commencement of the tournament remains unknown.
Meanwhile, CAF has announced the draw for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The qualifying series will start in September 2024 to determine the first 24 nations from the 48 teams that will compete for Africa’s biggest event.
The last two tournaments have been pushed forward a year COVID-19 affected the 2021 edition while the recent AFCON was held in 2024 instead of 2023.
