The Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly in Eastern region, Hon Alhaji Umar Bodinga, has urged the National Council, National Executive body, and the National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party to as a matter of urgency call the immediate past Trade and Industry Minister and aspiring flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kyerematen to order over his recent utterances on the economy.
Mr. Kyerematen in his speech at the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council in Western North region stated that the ailing state of the Ghanaian economy will make it difficult for the NPP to convince Ghanaians to retain them in the next polls if not fixed.
“We are all in difficulty, we have worked hard but due to the economic hardship, our key message for campaigning as a party for the 2024 election has become difficult for us,” he said.
Hon Bodinga a four-time Eastern Regional Vice Chairman and two-time Member of the National Council of the NPP reacting to the statement made by Hon Alan Kyerematen said the pronouncement by Alan Kyerematen is unfortunate .
According to him,if such pronouncements are not checked ,it could derail the party’s effort to retain power in 2024 elections, therefore, urged the party leadership to call him to order.
He added that the next election is going to be based on the great Achievements that the Akufo-Addo led administration has chalked over the years.
The NPP he said has introduced several policies that have mitigated the hardship on Ghanaians and should not be run down by a former Cabinet Minister.”NPP brought Free SHS, We have also implemented the Planting For Food And Jobs, One District, One Factory, and many others so what is Hon Alan Kyeremateng Saying.”He quizzed
He also condemned the Eastern regional campaign manager for Alan Kyerematen Hon Samuel Aye Paye a former member of Parliament for Ayensuano for festering religious division ahead of the NPP Presidential Primaries by inciting delegates to vote against Dr. Bawumia on grounds that he is a Muslim hence cannot win election in christian dominated country like Ghana.
According to him, such acts are detrimental to the party’s aim of “breaking the 8”.
