Ace Cameroonian Broadcaster, Angu Lesley has commended the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the appointment of Charles Kwablan Akonnor as head coach of the Black Stars.
Akonnor who is a former captain of Ghana was named head coach of the Black Stars last week to replace Kwesi Appiah.
According to him, it was a bold decision from the Ghana FA to hand the job to Akonnor but believes the former Wolfsburg captain can succeed.
He said the Black Stars coaching job given to Akonnor will serve as a platform for him to bring successes he chalked with Kotoko on board to help propel Ghana to achieve great things have gone 37 years without Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
In an interview with Bryt FM, he said, Ghana’s qualification to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will depend on the new coach after missing out on the 2018 soccer Mundial in Russia.
“Akonnor is a fine coach and he is a man I know personally. I think that he is going to create all sorts of troubles for South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia” he ended.
The 2022 world cup qualifiers will kick start in October.
